RobW
.....I've been happily using the 7ES plugs, but recently popped into the motor factors without my usual parts list , and got given a set of BPR6E correct for a 1600 crossflow engine. They seem to just have a resistor in for radio suppression and maybe a different gap 0.7 vs 0.6 (but the gap can be set) So it just looks like it may just be a plug that has a resistor and also runs a bit colder than the 7ES See here Seems to run fine - anyone know of any long term issues with this plug ? 7 wonders of the world
The 'R' means resistor in NGK legend speak the 'S' is for single electrode the number refers to the heat range of the plug for NGK the higher the number the colder the plug will run so more suitable for tweaked motors as it's capable of conducting more heat away to the head to reduce the risk of pre ignition from an incandescing tip. For mild crossflow we used a 7 and higher spec we ran 8 both with platinum electrode tips which were more tolerant of excess fuel deposits from Webers finest
Wrightpayne
7WotW I was thinking the same and was just googling to check my memory to confirm. This is useful here Regards Ian Edited by - Wrightpayne on 27 Apr 2014 20:57:
