Myles
I'm kind of reposting this from my 'More oil vicar?' thread as this is about the only issue left unresolved right now and it might be missed without an explicit title. There seems to be a body of opinion (on some other sites too) that Comma Syner-G 5W40 is just a rebranded (or vica versa) Halfords synthetic. Can anyone categorically confirm this - or is it just a moss-gathering myth? My car has just been refilled with Syner-G by Millwood - but it seems I need a bit more... I've not seen anywhere that sells Comma products locally - so Halfrauds would be pretty painless. Thanks, Myles
mav
Myles, As per my earlier posting - if you ask Halfords who the supplier / maufacturer is htey will tell you it is Comma. Also as per my posting if you want comma branded, give the customer services number (on their web site) a call and ask them for your local retailers. SvenDriver
Oils can be mixed fairly freely. I had Synger-G in the car and topped up with halfrauds. Both 5-40. For the last refil I put in Halfrauds 5-40. My gut feel is that of you are changing the oil more regularily than 6K then it makes little difference; you are getting the oil at its best. (Do not mix Synth/Non-synth/Mixed oils). Edited by - SvenDriver on 15 Jun 2003 22:00:

Mav 😳- wasn't ignoring or disputing your post - which was helpful - just taking your recommendation to check other peoples opinions too REgds, Myles
