Calling Oily

I'll be dropping the sump shortly, therefore I've got a new gasket. I read somewhere that you recommend drilling a couple of small holes in the gasket, to aid the oil draining back down.

 

Could you post exactly where these should be please.

It's simple but what it does is to force all the oil spalshed on the low side of the engine to drain right next to the pickup rather than all the way along the sump as with an unmodified gasket. Reports from those who have undertaken this mod show that it *does* have a positive affect.

Well, I drilled the holes, and it's all back together. So we'll see how it goes. If the weather brightens up a bit!
