remove the test thread

Possibly a little strongly worded, but m'learned friend has a point.

People will gas on at length about absolutely nothing online whether you like it or not though. Not sure if you can do anything to stop it, as it would invariably crop up in Chitchat were Test to be closed. Given that, I'd rather keep it in one place where it can be easily ignored.

Seven, I think you're being a little harsh. It's all in the spirit of the forum and friendship. If, however, it is really affecting the forum, then go with Babarella's idea, keep it but "prune" it to a manageable size. It's only fun 😬

Seek forgiveness, not permission.

Is it easy to rob a bank and get away with it???

You could argue certain threads in chitchat should not be posted as they are not seven related.

Hislop in air crash or Robbie williams, are you going, reconditioned laptops are not seven related but they are topics on this forum Should they be banned too 🤔

Surely this site was set up for 7 enthusiasts to meet and chat about whatever they feel strongly about, whether that be Robbie Williams, Chickens crossing roads or trackdays!

This is just my point of view and i understand numerous threads can slow everything down, but we in the test area chat down there as not everybody appreciates our humour and sense of fun. If you don't like it may i suggest you don't go there unless you wish to test something

Best wishes

Viv *smile*

Wishing i had my own seven *biggrin*

I take it you were not about at the dusk of thread then Seven??

the UT (unfunny Tossers) were not welcome by the Grumpy old Gits (GOG's) in Chit Chat following a thread about cucumbers.

Live and let live. Do you hear the people who frequent the Test Area calling for threads to be closed and or deleted from Chit Chat or Tech Talk etc? NO is the answer you are looking for.

Barry will clear out unneeded postings on a regular basis if required. Thread are limited in size and use of emoticons by the people there, so as to not cause any utilisation problems.

Furthermore removing all of the info would not allow for the use of features such as the search, or e-mail notification of new posts to be re-added, as it was not the info stored that was causing prblems with searches etc.

I suggest you e-mail the site administrator (Barry Sweeny) if you wish to confirm this with him.

Regards,

Martin - User of ALL forums on this site (and a paid up club member)
