About the Three Pot SIG

This Special Interest Group has been set up for members with Sevens that either have the three cylinder K6A 660 cc Suzuki engine (160 owners) and or the newer engine (same size, same number of cylinders)in the 170. We have an active What's App group made of of members who have either built their cars (or for the less brave like me) opted for a factory produced car.  Some people buy a 160 or 170 as their first Caterham and then move to more powerful Sevens. Some of us (an increasing number) who live in Ultra Low Emission Zones have done part exchanges but have then found that these cars are ideal for road use, the wigglier the better. Encouragingly there are a significant number of younger owners many with young families. As with all Caterhams. these cars have their quirks  but are enormous  fun. The What's App group is used to swop technical tips and to organize events. As with other special interest groups in the Club (the new EV group being the most recent), we are not geographically specific. This is sometimes a challenge but also an opportunity to organize events around the country (and theoretically anywhere in the world where 160/170 cars are owned including of course Japan). Our first meeting at the beginning of September was based in Tetbury and included a trip to the Bibury Classic Car Hub and Severn Bore on the Sunday and then a visit to the Millwood show room for lunch on Sunday. Our thanks to Jon and Eric at Millwood, to Jon Symons (AR Bristol and Bath) and David Stokes (AR  for Gloucestershire) and to local owners Chris Townend and Chris and Pat Jackson for providing local support. Also to Gill and John Bevan, local stalwarts of the Morgan Car Club who rustled up some local members to join us  over the week end.  The next biggish event will be the annual eco run which we organize on Easter Saturday (100 km run from London, out and back) but if you are a 160 or 170 owner and would like to organize something more local to you then we would love to do other things. At the moment, the group is run by me at London West Middlesex but if any one feels like being AR of the group then that might work equally well or possibly better!
