Gransden Lodge. 15th june 2024.
Few may know but many may not know but Cambridge Gliding Centre is celebrating and has an open event planned for the 15th June.
June 1946 is the anniversary of the first post WW II closed circuit motor race and was organised by Cambridge University Automobile Club. It was held at RAF Gransden Lodge (as was) and attracted some 35 entries over 12 races. Gransden Lodge is now the home of Cambridge Gliding Centre.
To commemorate this CGC will be holding an Open Day on June 15th and specifically inviting a number of car clubs to come along and join us. Members of the public are also being invited (as they are on Sunday 16th which is Father's Day).
See the CGC web site which contains additional information - including how to register attendance and how to apply for an Introductory Gliding Flight.
We look forward to seeing many of your members there and, perhaps, taking their first flight in a glider!
