July events

The usual monthly meet will be on Tuesday 9^th July at the Ace Café from 5.30.

We are going to cancel the lunch meeting at the Hare and Hounds on 20^th July as Andy, Colin and Bob have other things to do and a bunch of us including Bob are heading to Shuttleworth for the Summer Air Display. The plan is to meet at Jordan’s Mill (SG18 9JX) for a spot of lunch at 1.00 then head to Old Warden Aerodrome at 2.00 (Thanks to Keith Warner from the Midget and Sprite Club for organizing this).

This means that we can distribute the all-important VIP passes that theoretically at least mean we can dodge the one hour queue and get to park in our pre allocated parking area right by where the planes fly.

We had a great visit to the Shuttleworth collection last October so this is a follow on. We have a very special price of £21 per person- the adult price is now £32.50 and we have potentially 30 places allocated at the £21 price point but need to confirm final numbers (number of people and number of cars) by midday on Monday 8 July.

I then pay for the tickets and chase you for a BACS transfer. Rain is not an excuse not to attend so if you have pre booked you either turn up or lose your money. Alternatively you can just turn up on the day and pay £32.50 but you will have to go through the less than important queue (one hour if it is sunny) and may end up in the PUBLIC CAR PARK.

If it is is a calm evening, the Bleriot 11 is allowed to fly which as you all know is the world’s oldest aircraft still allowed to fly (built in 1909)

It is powered by a three cylinder Anzani engine which as you also know, is an ideal number of cylinders
